What is the warranty for a new K&K Pump?All new K&K Pumps come with a 1-year warranty against defects. The warranty does not cover damage to the pump resulting from installation errors.

I bought a pump that looks exactly like the pumps you sell from another vendor. Will you honor its warranty?K&K only honors warranties on the products we sell directly. If you're having issues with a pump you bought elsewhere, please contact that vendor directly for warranty claims.

My K&K pump was installed incorrectly and now it isn't working. Will my warranty cover that?The 1-year warranty provided by K&K is valid for pump or component defects. The warranty does not cover damage resulting from improper installation.

We had an electrical problem that affected our ice maker. Our K&K Pump is no longer working. Will my warranty cover this?Warranties on K&K Pumps are for pump and associated component defects only. The warranty does not cover any external event that may have caused your pump to fail.

How do I tell if a water pump is bad?Usually, you can tell if your pump is bad by flipping the toggle switch to the "wash" position. If it makes a humming noise or does not come on, this is an indication that the motor is locked up. We always recommend contacting a licensed service professional in your area.

Does a water pump have power going to it continuously?Yes! Before working on pump, make sure the machine is unplugged or the breaker is turned off at the panel. There IS power going to the machine even when it is turned off. We always recommend contacting a licensed service professional in your area.

Why is my pump running, but no water is pumping?Normally, this means you have a bad impeller in the pump. Contact a local service professional to completely diagnose the problem.

My pump is running and will not shut off. What is the cause?This may mean you have a bad toggle switch. Contact a local service professional to properly diagnose the problem.

When installing a new pump, do I have to use the plug for the ice machine?Connectors can be used, but heat shrinks are recommended to prevent moisture from shortening the motor out. We always recommend contacting a local professional to install a new pump.

Is it normal for my water pump to be shutting on and off?When the motor reaches a certain temperature, the motor has a thermal overload protector and will shut off. When it cools down, it will come back on. Contact a local service professional.

Does the capacitor need to be changed when changing the pump?Yes, your new K&K Pump will work much more efficiently with a new capacitor. You MUST use the new capacitor that comes with your new K&K Pump. Do NOT use your existing capacitor. Doing so will void your warranty.

How do I drain water before changing the pump?Open up the service door on right side of your ice machine. Take the black hose off of sump and the water will drain out. We always recommend contacting a service professional to take care of your machine's maintenance.

Why will water pump out of the drain while the ice machine is in the freeze cycle?In an older machine, the check valve needs to be cleaned. In a newer machine, the dump valve will need to be replaced. Contact a local service professional for maintenance.

Is it normal for water to leak around my pump?No. This could be caused by cracked pump housing or a bad mechanical seal. Contact a local service professional for maintenance.

When I turn the machine on to the "ICE" position it will not come on, but if I turn it to "WASH" position, the pump will come on?The "WASH" valve must be turned horizontally (facing front of machine) for it to work in "ICE" mode.

Why is minimal water running across the evaporator when the pump is running?Normally, this means the distribution tubes are filled with debris. Take the distribution tubes out and clean with water hose and re-install.

Do I need filters on my ice machine?In almost every application, filters will give the ice machine a longer life.

Why does the breaker trip when I turn the machine to "WASH" position?Either the pump is locked up or the motor is shorted out. The pump will either need to be replaced or rebuilt. Contact a local service professional for maintenance.

Do new K&K Pumps come with a capacitor?Yes. Every new K&K Pump comes with a new capacitor that MUST be used during installation. DO NOT re-use your old capacitor. Doing so will void your pump's warranty.

Do rebuilt pumps come with a new capacitor?No. You will need to use your existing capacitor when re-installing your rebuilt pump.

Do I have to order a rebuild service online? Can't I just call?Yes. In order to process your pump rebuild as quickly as possible, we require all customers follow our simple and fast online ordering process. We do not accept orders by phone.

How long does it take for you to rebuild my pump?After we receive your pump, a typical remanufacturing is completed within 10 business days.

I ordered a rebuild service online. Will you send me a box and shipping label?No. You will need to provide your own box, packing, and pay for shipping to K&K. The shipping that you paid for during checkout covers the shipping of your rebuilt pump back to you.

Can I drop off my pump to be rebuilt instead of shipping it to you?Absolutely! Simply select the "Local Pickup" option during checkout, and we'll send you instructions on where to drop off your pump.

I want to drop off my pump for rebuild. Can you ship it back to me?We'd be happy to! Just make sure you select "Ship" during checkout, and we'll ship your pump back to you.
